Hunger and Food Insecurity in California

 

Results from the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS),2001 

 


The California Health Interview Survey (CHIS 2001), conducted by the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), found a striking amount of hunger in California, a state known for its agricultural production. The survey findings show that more than 2.2 million low-income adults in California cannot always afford to put food on the table. About one out of every three of these adults experience episodes of hunger. For more info, click on the links below.
